Segesta is situated four kilometers from Calatafimi on mount Barbaro about 400 metres above sea level and is one of the most beautiful and suggestive places to visit in Sicily. The most important city of the mysterious Elimian population whose origins are still unclear and historic rival of Selinunte, Segesta’s fame is undoubtedly linked to its renowned Doric temple and its amphitheatre where plays are put on in summer.
