Pensione Tranchina Scopello

ITINERARY

From Scopello you can easily reach all the archaeological and tourist sites of western Sicily.
It is 30 minutes from Segesta and Trapani by car;
40 minutes from Erice and Mothia;
1 hour from Palermo, Selinunte and Monreale
and 2 hours from The Valley of the Temples of Agrigento.
Many guests choose our guest house as a base from which to go on day trips, returning in the evening for dinner.

Segesta is situated four kilometers from Calatafimi on mount Barbaro about 400 metres above sea level and is one of the most beautiful and suggestive places to visit in Sicily. The most important city of the mysterious Elimian population whose origins are still unclear and historic rival of Selinunte, Segesta’s fame is undoubtedly linked to its renowned Doric temple and its amphitheatre where plays are put on in summer.

Erice is an extraordinary city, not only for its most famous monuments (the Norman castle formerly a temple dedicated to Venus, its towers, its hamlet), but for the city as a whole: narrow misty streets, ancient walls and incredible views where the horizon disappears and the sea and sky become one.
